New 'The Fast and the Furious' film to hit Chinese screens in August



"Fast &Furious Presents: Hobbs &Shaw," the latest spin-off of "The Fast and the Furious" film series, will hit Chinese mainland big screens on August 23, Universal Pictures announced on its official Weibo account.

Starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, the film will feature Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in alliance against a cyber-genetically enhanced villain that threatens the world.

"The Fate of the Furious," the eighth installment in the franchise released in 2017, grossed over 2.6 billion yuan (about 377 million U.S. dollars) on the mainland.
